4. Data Security and Encryption

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures under Article 32 GDPR to protect your personal data.

This includes storing personal data in encrypted form in our systems (encryption at rest) and using protected transmission channels (encryption in transit), where technically applicable.

While we maintain strong security controls, no method of data transmission or storage can be guaranteed as completely secure.

5. Data Retention

Personal Data (deleted on account deletion):

  • Resume data: After 30 days of inactivity
  • User account data: On request or upon account deletion

Legal & Billing Records (anonymized, not deleted):

  • Payment data: 10 years (German tax law §257)
  • Consent log: 6 years (GDPR Article 7, EU Consumer Rights)

Anti-Fraud Ledger (fraud prevention tokens, not deleted):

To prevent abuse, we retain hashed (cryptographically encrypted) email addresses in our fraud prevention database. These entries:

  • Are not deleted when you delete your account
  • Do not contain your name, phone number, or other personal details
  • Are irreversible hash values (e.g., HMAC-SHA256)
  • Are used to prevent email addresses from claiming free credits multiple times
  • Are retained under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests in fraud prevention)
  • Are retained indefinitely as a fraud prevention measure
